About Jenny Barrett
Hi I’m Jenny, I offer short and longer term counselling in Worthing. I hold a Post graduate Diploma in psychotherapeutic humanistic counselling from the University of Brighton and am a registered member of the BACP.
I believe that it is the relationship between counsellor and client, which is central to the success of counselling. My aim is to build a non-judgemental relationship with you based on trust, respect and integrity. Together we can examine the issues you are facing in your life and the mechanisms that you have developed to cope with these.
During our sessions we can explore your experiences, thoughts and feelings and the meaning that you give to them, in a safe space where you can feel heard and accepted. Together we will work towards developing a greater understanding of yourself and I will support you to evaluate and make decisions about your own life and your relationships with others.
Previously I worked as a part of the student counselling team at Greater Brighton Metropolitan College supporting students across a variety of issues. I also worked for East Sussex NHS Trust offering counselling support to parents of young children across a variety of issues including: fertility, traumatic childbirth, post natal depression, miscarriage, low self esteem and relationship issues. I also spent 3 years working at a low cost counselling service based in Southwick.
I offer an exploratory 50 minute session for £20 so you can decide if I am the right counsellor for you.
