I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. As well as my private practice I have worked for Suffolk Mind, the mental health charity and Women’s Aid. I also teach counselling skills and theory at West Suffolk College.
I can work with any emotional or psychological issue including:

My counselling approach is based on the belief that good mental and emotional life is created in nurturing, safe relationships, while abusive or unsatisfying relationships will lead to unhappiness and psychological distress. Difficulties in our relationships with others can affect how we feel about ourselves and damage our relationship with ‘the self’. Sometimes, this then leads to destructive and unhelpful coping strategies such as addictions or shutting down and withdrawing from relationships because they seem frightening or rejecting.

My aim is help you to gently explore the past and present so that you can have a more satisfying future, one in which you will experience more rewarding and satisfying relationships with others and with yourself. Through our counselling therapeutic relationship, you can have a future with more flexibility and freedom to make positive choices and so reach your full potential.
