About 207 Counselling
Hello. I am Gillian Quinton, of 207 Counselling. I am a fully-accredited and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and have worked as a counsellor since qualifying from Sheffield Hallam University in 2001. My first degree was in Psychology, which I studied at Sheffield University.
I have worked, and still do, in further education for 22 years, supporting people of all ages who have various learning and physical disabilities. This has prepared me well for my work as a counsellor. My counselling jobs have been with various agencies (including Sheffield Women’s Counselling and Therapy Service and South Yorkshire Counselling) and in GP surgeries. I was employed by the Sheffield Primary Care Trust, which I left in 2012 as my private work grew.
I see people from all walks of life, bringing their individual issues to counselling. As every client is an individual, I work with each one in the way to suit them. This means I bring together different approaches and styles of counselling to ensure you have the best approach for you.
Appointments are available for individuals from the age of 13 upwards. I can offer short and longer-term counselling, at a time and frequency to suit you. My fees are £40 a session, with the first reduced to £20.
Issues I work with include low mood and depression, stress, work stress, anxiety, trauma, bereavement and other losses, life events, abuse and childhood experiences, low self-esteem and confidence, issues with other people and anger. My associate, Ian Baker works with couples, psycho-sexual issues and sex addiction.
I also hold a qualification in supervision from Cruse and offer clinical supervision to other counsellors.
