Gwen McKerrell
Would you like to develop more positive personal and professional relationships?
Would you like to lessen your anxiety over issues such as health or work?
The counselling that I offer provides a safe, non-judgemental and caring space to help you to resolve any issues you may be having.
About Me
My name is Gwen and I am a qualified counsellor with additional life coaching training.
I'm qualified to Postgraduate Level in Counselling, registered with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and governed by their professional Code of Practice and Ethical Framework. I have further training in coaching and mindfulness.
My counselling training was in person centred theory, however my approach is an integrative one, which is client-focussed and ensures that I will be able to find the right tool in my toolkit to best meet your needs.
Sometimes it’s hard to speak to those we are closest to as we fear being judged by or burdening them. I can offer you a safe, welcoming and confidential place to explore what is troubling you.
No matter the issue you are experiencing, I will provide warmth, empathy, acceptance and understanding. Together we will explore the things that are troubling you to allow you to gain insights that will let you find clarity in your situation. Counselling will give you the tools to empower you to find a way towards self-healing and personal growth.
Clients often tell me that they find it easy to open-up and share their experiences with me. They have said that they found this helped them to see their situation in a new light that enabled them to move forward in their lives.

What is coaching and how can it help you?
Coaching is more specific than counselling. It focusses solely on a particular situation giving it the attention that it may be hard to find elsewhere. It may also include aspects of goal setting and solution-focussed exercises. I will listen to you, understand who you are, what you think and how you experience the world. I will present you with an objective view that creates real clarity. Our conversations will encourage you to rise to challenges, overcome obstacles and move towards positive action.
What is the difference between coaching and counselling?
Coaching is goal orientated and counselling is coping orientated. Both can help you to move forward in your life and achieve the results you want.
