As your therapist it is my aim to offer a safe, confidential space where you can explore any difficulties you are experiencing. Together we will look at why you need therapy, what you wish to gain from therapy, and the changes you are hoping for.

I use a Psychodynamic approach which enables you to look at the way you are interacting now and at the difficulties you are having, and to make links with experiences you have had previously. As you develop an understanding of why “you are the way you are” the possibility of long-lasting change.

With Children and young people I provide a relaxed and thoughtful environment where they can begin to develop a trusting relationship and think about what is troubling them. Young people often present with behavioural challenges or changes in mood and can struggle to verbalise the root of why they are feeling the way they are. I use play, drawing and games to help children express their innermost feelings.

I am trained to Masters level in Psychodynamic Counselling, and have experience of working in NHS Psychotherapy,and with younger people in a University setting as well as “Looked-after Children” and children excluded from mainstream eucation in SEMH schools.
Prior to training as a therapist I worked for 10 years as a GP in the NHS.

and those who are struggling with self-harmful behaviours e.g eating difficulties, addiction, ‘cutting’.

I am a registered and accredited individual member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I follow their ethical guidelines for practice.
