GC Counselling

I am an Accredited and experienced therapist and very passionate about my work.  I help individuals who are experiencing personal difficulties and suffering in their lives to allow them to gain a better understanding of those issues and establish a new outlook on how to deal with these.  Having experienced counselling myself, I can appreciate how intimidating it can be to speak about your problems. I offer a safe, friendly, supportive and confidential space where you have time to share your difficulties and concerns.

My training draws on different theoretical approaches, but I believe at the centre of this is the relationship we have with ourselves, and the world around us. We are all unique and my aim is to work with you to address your issues and help you live a more fulfilling and happy life.

Throughout my career I have worked with a wide range of issues and dealt with people struggling with many of these, including substance misuse and alcohol dependency. I was fortunate enough to run my own Drug and Alcohol Rehab in the West Country for a number of years. During this time, I created and ran a unique therapeutic programme for clients struggling with dependency gaining excellent results, most of the clients who attended my programme are still in recovery today.

I have also worked with the NHS where most of my time was spent with people suffering from anxiety, depression, relationships and bereavement. I am also a qualified EMDR therapist helping people heal from symptoms & emotional distress as a result of trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

All sessions last 50 minutes and will usually take place at the same time each week.  I offer flexible appointments (including evenings), Monday to Saturday, to accommodate clients. The cost per session is £50 (concessions are available where appropriate).

I am fully compliant with professional regulatory requirements and all my work is supervised in accordance with the British Asociation of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
