Welcome to Mind2Talk. My name is Adam Johnson and I’m the counsellor here at my privately run practice. I specialise in making you the client feel relaxed and at ease. This is especially useful for people who are worried about seeing a counsellor and all it entails. Visiting a counsellor can seem like a daunting prospect and create lots of anxiety, the feedback I have received over the years has told me that I have a natural ability of making people feel at ease, this helps you not only to attend and commit to counselling but also helps with trust in the relationship. This means you will feel ready and comfortable sharing what is going on for you giving you the the opportunity to deal with those issues once and for all. I will support you through your counselling journey, especially those first steps which can sometimes feel like the biggest to take.
We’ll go to the doctor when we feel unwell physically: sore throat, flu, bad cough. So why don’t we see a health professional when we feel emotional pain: guilt, loss, loneliness? Too many of us deal with common psychological-health issues on our own, but we don’t have to. We can go and see someone, someone who will be able to understand our situation and help. Emotional health is as important as breaking your leg and you certainly wouldn’t leave that untreated, would you? I work with in lots of different area’s of counselling but have lots of experience working with people with depression and anxiety.
