About Rebel Therapy

With me, you’ll find a safe, supportive, confidential and compassionate space where you can share and explore what’s happening for you without judgement. As a qualified therapeutic counsellor, I’ll use my knowledge and experience to support you in identifying and exploring the challenges you face. Together, we’ll work at your pace to identify where you want to be and what will help you get there.

I have particular experience working with creatives and those in non-conforming careers and lifestyles, including artists, activists, writers, musicians, freelancers and entrepreneurs. I know these avenues require a huge amount of integrity, bravery and vulnerability, and that this can sometimes contribute to feeling anxious, stressed, scared, isolated and/or exhausted. You might be finding it challenging to commit to your creative goals, especially if this feels dangerous, impractical, or like it contradicts messages you’ve had about success and identity from your family, friends or society more generally. If this sounds like you, please get in contact and we’ll explore together the ways I might be able to help.

I’ve worked with people from a range of backgrounds on all sorts of issues, with the most common being: stress; depression; anxiety; past or present experience of abuse, violence and other traumatic experiences; body image and identity issues, including issues around class, gender and sexuality; and finding ways through guilt, shame, loss or fear.

This can show up in all sorts of different ways, including:

  • Feeling physically and emotionallly burnt out and exhausted
  • Intrusive or obsessive thoughts or memories, panic attacks or nightmares
  • Mood swings, including crying, flashes of anger or fear with no clear reason or trigger
  • Self-criticism, self-harm and self-destructive behaviours
  • Feeling like you’re putting on an act in relationships, friendships or at work
  • Feeling disconnected, numb, overwhelmed, misunderstood and/or out of control

And all sorts of other symptoms too long to include in this list.

I’ve had incredible feedback for my one-to-one therapeutic work, with clients reporting feeling less isolated and afraid, and becoming more self-compassionate, self-accepting and resilient over the course of our sessions together.

I’m an integrative pratictioner, which means I incorporate person-centred, transactional analysis and CBT theories, techniques and approaches into my work. This gives me a broad knowledge base to draw on, and allows me to be flexible and responsive in adapting to what you need.

I’ll always treat you with empathy, acceptance and understanding, supporting you and recognising your courage and resilience – even when you feel anything but.

I charge £50 per 50-minute session, with concessionary rates available for students and those with low income, subject to availability. In the first instance, you can contact me to arrange a free 30-minute phone consultation, where you can tell me a bit about what’s going on for you and see if we’re a good fit.
