Description:

Hi, I'm Helen and I am a student Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (integrative) in advanced training and I offer affordable counselling and therapy.
I believe that the key to successful therapy lies in the relationship between the therapist and client. With this in mind I offer a free half hour consultation to discuss what your hopes and goals are and discuss the ways I can offer support.
I am currently working with a school and a local Children's Centre providing counselling and therapy to parents and carers. I also have a room in Market Weighton providing low cost therapy and counselling.
Life can be challenging and stressful. Some of the areas in which I work with individuals are: individuals who have experienced loss, suffer from anxiety and/or depression, recovering from an abusive relationship, loss of self confidence. I am particularly interested in working with individual parents or carers who may be experiencing a difficult time either due to a child's behaviour, additional needs or other stresses that can come with family life. I also enjoy working with people who find themselves struggling to understand their partners child's disability: perhaps your partner has social and communication difficulties and this is impacting on your relationship.
I have over 15 years experience of working in education with over 5 years working with parents and carers.
I can assure you of a warm and supportive welcome to all enquiries as I understand that taking the first steps may be daunting.
I pride myself on providing a safe, welcoming environment for my clients. I am a trainee member of UKCP and adhere to their code of ethics.
