I am an Integrative Counsellor specialising in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) proven to be affective therapy for Depression and Anxiety. Providing reflective space in Belfast and Lisburn within which we can explore current or past difficulties, challenges, stress and behaviours that are impacting on the quality of your everyday life, patterns of behaviour or relationships. By gaining an understanding of our thoughts, behaviour, feelings and anxiety in particular situations enables the achievement of your goals. It is taking â€˜time outâ€™ from your life removed from family and friends providing self awareness in a safe, respectful, non judging environment.
Counselling helps by working collaboratively with the guided exploration of your ' here and now ' issues or difficulties. These may be a new experience or established patterns or cycles of behaviour such as addictions, self harm, suicidal thoughts, stress, anger or problems in relating to others. Everyone is unique and as an Integrative Counsellor I will support you throughout your exploration, providing an understanding enabling change by finding your strengths and ability to change. Personally and Professionally I have learned that therapy can lead to a self acceptance, an increased self esteem by learning skills to challenge behaviour and thoughts now and in the future independent of counselling. CBT provides you with a self-awareness providing the life skills to become your own therapist independant of counselling.
