About Kym Netherton

Counselling is a form of psychological therapy in which current and perhaps historical problems are explored, with the purpose of making positive changes to how a person feels, how they live and how they experience their life.

My aim is to offer a warm, safe and supportive space, in which I offer you an opportunity to talk about and explore yourself and your life in a way that you may never have been able to before. This supported exploration may help you to gain insights into your feelings and behaviour and empower you to live the life that you want to.

Counselling can be beneficial in treating or finding ways of coping with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, addictions, eating disorders, long term health conditions, bereavement, gender and identity confusion, relationship difficulties, parenting, sexual issues and many other problems which may happen over the course of life.

I like to offer counselling in a way that is accessible and meets my clients needs, therefore I offer one to one face to face counselling, and also via Skype (with or without video) or by email.

I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor, and as such I am skilled in working with a wide array of problems and challenges that may be faced during the course of life.

My approach to the therapeutic journey stems from my personal qualities of compassion, attentiveness, patience and diligence. I integrate a varietyof counselling and psychotherapeutic models alongside behavioural and positive psychology,
ancient wisdom, mindfulness and creativity. My work is underpinned by the belief that within each person there is a seed of life and that given the right conditions they will grow to fulfil their true potential.

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I have done a further Post Graduate Diploma with The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust and I am an Associate Member of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and abide by their guidelines for ethical practice.

I have a particular interest in working with the mind body connection.

I am a qualified Mindful Mamma Hypnobirthing Practitioner and teach Hypnosis and Mindful birthing techniques, these assist in the psychological preparation for birth and help you to have the best birth possible.
