About Me
Hello and welcome. I am a BACP Accredited Integrative Counsellor with a private practice in Hornchurch, having previously counselled in a local hospice and large, multi-ethnic college.
What to expect in your first session
I understand that seeing a counsellor for the first time can feel daunting and scary, but often the hardest thing is making that initial appointment. Your first session with me will be more of a consultation than counselling. This will give us both the opportunity to find out more about each other and see how we can work together. I will outline how counselling works and the basis behind my approach. I offer a safe and secure environment where you can work through difficulties and concerns at your own pace.
How counselling can help
People of all ages and backgrounds come to see me for many reasons including Anxiety, Relationships,(including separation and divorce), Work Related Stress, Depression (including postnatal), Family, Abuse (including domestic violence), Low Self-Esteem, Trauma and Loss & Bereavement.
I can offer you the support that will enable you to understand your difficulties, including unresolved feelings, past trauma, painful conflicts in the present or worries about the future. I can help you make sense of what you express and feel through both short and long term counselling. Together we can explore options and choices that help you come to your own solutions on what is right for you.
People that have come to me for counselling in the past describe feeling as though a weight has been lifted. Many have said that they feel much more in control; they feel they’re better-equipped to deal with whatever life throws at them. Others have said they feel less ’stuck’, more able to see what they want out of life and are better able to move forwards with more resilience, hope and increased levels of wellbeing and happiness.
