Hello, I’m Tanya. I am a trauma-informed, qualified counsellor in Weston-super-Mare. I work with clients in-person and online. I offer weekly counselling sessions for individuals (age 18+) who are struggling with various challenges and difficulties, including the effects of Traumatic experiences, Challenging Relationships, Past Abuse or Assault, Adverse-Childhood Experiences, Difficult Life Changes, Loss & Grief, Anxiety, Low Mood and more.

You may be finding yourself at a stage of life where you now feel ready to embark on a journey of healing, self-discovery, understanding and change. Counselling can support you with this process from a place of understanding, compassion and safety.

I know that counselling, especially if you have never experienced it before, can feel daunting or even scary. Therefore, I aim to provide a calm, welcoming and supportive space to help you feel at ease.

Our initial session will allow you to talk a bit about yourself, your needs and your hopes for counselling. We will discuss how I work as a counsellor, and we will have the opportunity to decide if we are a good match to work together.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified professional counsellor. I hold a First Class BSc (Hons) Degree in counselling and an FdSc Degree in counselling from Bath Spa University. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and hold an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate. My professional experience includes counselling adults in private practice and in a charity setting, and counselling children in a school setting in the South-West of England. I have worked with people experiencing a number of difficulties, including depression, grief & loss, stress, low mood, anxiety, relationship problems, difficult life changes and transitions, childhood abuse, domestic abuse, low self-esteem, low confidence and much more. I have completed training to work online as a counsellor, and I regularly partake in continued professional development workshops, training and events to maintain my competency as a counsellor and continuously enhance my skills and knowledge.
