Secure Base Counselling
Counsellor in Leicester, Leicestershire
I am a experienced and BACP accredited counsellor/psychotherapist offering both short and long term Therapy. I also practice EMDR used for trauma and issues difficult to shift with talking therapy alone l.
I am able to offer a safe confidential space where we can explore together, at your own pace the root of your confusion or distress.
With the help of a strong therapeutic relationship I believe people are able to gain a better understanding of their current situation. And something from the past that may be playing a part in current feelings.
You may not understand why you feel the way you do but together we can find some clarity. I believe everybody has the ability to change and sometimes we just need to be heard.
I offer both Psychodynamic and Integrative counselling, which enables me to draw from a number of approaches to suit your individual needs.

3 Reviews on “Secure Base Counselling”
One of the difficulties I found as a potential client trying to find a therapist was often the lack of reviews on the Therapists web site or social media page. A lot of that is probably down to us the clients and our fear of public exposure. I was fortunate to find someone first time around, it wasn’t pure luck I did my research, had an initial chat on the phone and then went with my gut.
I’m giving this review as openly and as honestly as I can in the hope that you the reader finds it useful. I started working with Kelly in Feb 2015, and to be frank I was a mess of mixed up thoughts and emotions. On the surface, I’d got my life together, but beneath it and out of public view was the chaotic jumble that was me. I have found therapy like learning to drive a car, in the first lesson you haven’t got a clue what’s going on but after a few goes things start to fall into place and it gets easier and you’re starting to be able to travel down the road without hitting the kerb or swerving over the centre line, occasionally however you still need a bit of guidance and input.
This life is mine and this therapeutic journey is what I’ve chosen to help me become the person I need to be, I am however grateful that there is someone who can suggest it might be appropriate to change gear, or tweak the direction of travel.
Not every counselor is the right fit for every client, but you don’t know unless you reach out and try. I can honestly say that my life is very different now to how it was two years ago, and that is in great part to the safe space that Kelly creates in which to do the work, and the supportive and non judgemental way in which she works with you.
I have been a client since Feb 2015 and I can say in all honesty that the experience has been extremely positive and I would recommend Secure Base Counselling to anyone who feels they would like support and and the opportunity to discuss their issues in a completely open and non judgemental environment.
A thoroughly professional and incredibly competent counselor who has exhibited great patience and care in helping work through my problems.
