McGill Counselling

Counsellor in East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire

Sometimes life reaches a point where it feels difficult to keep carrying things in the same way. You might feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from yourself, or stuck in patterns that no longer feel helpful.

I’m Danny, a person-centred counsellor offering therapy in East Kilbride, Glasgow City Centre and online. I aim to offer a space that feels warm, grounded and genuinely human. Many of the people I work with tell me previous counselling felt too clinical, too formal, or that they struggled to build a real connection with the therapist.

I work particularly well with neurodivergent clients, including people with ADHD, and with people trying to make sense of trauma, shame, self-esteem difficulties or emotional overwhelm. As someone diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood myself, I also understand some of the frustration and self-criticism that can come with feeling misunderstood.

My core approach is person-centred, though I work integratively and may bring in ideas or tools from approaches such as CBT, compassion-focused therapy and transactional analysis where useful. I try to adapt therapy to the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

I try to offer a space that feels calm, genuine and easy to talk in. Therapy with me can involve honesty, humour and gentle challenge alongside compassion and support.
