I work as an Integrative Counsellor, drawing from Humanistic and Psychodynamic modalities. My approach is relational, as I believe that relationship is fundamental to our well-being, and that our early relationships with caregivers, affect all other relationships.
I have a Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling
I have been working as a counsellor for the past few years with different counselling agencies. My experience has been with people of different ages and with a variety of issues – self esteem, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, bereavement, loss, relationship issues, suicide, separation, etc.
Previously I worked for 16 years for a young people’s charity working alongside disaffected young people (11-25 year olds) , offering guidance and support. Working with many agencies (Social Services, Probation, Education, Benefits, Mental Health, Police). This experience has proved invaluable, enabling me to see life through many different .
Therefore, I think that our past informs our present, and who we are today is formed by our life experiences and the choices we have made. I am particularly interested in ‘Attachment’ and how this has shaped us. I seek to encourage self-awareness and automony, believing that every person is unique and valuable, and has within them, the ability to change..
