Integrative Counselling – High Tide
Counsellor in Swansea, Swansea
Hello, I’m Joelle, an Integrative Counsellor offering a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can show up exactly as you are.
As someone who is both queer and neurodivergent, and who belongs to multiple minority communities, I understand what it can feel like to move through the world as an outsider. I know the experience of not always fitting neatly into society’s expectations, and how isolating that can sometimes feel. These experiences have shaped not only who I am as a person, but also how I work as a counsellor.
My practice is founded on the belief that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, respected, and accepted. I welcome people of all genders, sexualities, relationship styles, cultures, ethnicities, faiths, and backgrounds. Whether you’re exploring your identity, navigating life’s challenges, working through past experiences, or simply looking for a space where you can speak freely, you are welcome here.
At the heart of my work is a person-centred approach. This means I believe you are the expert on your own life, and our work together is guided by your needs, goals, and experiences. I aim to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, empathy, and collaboration.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to tailor therapy to each individual. Alongside person-centred counselling, I incorporate psychoeducation to help make sense of emotional experiences and understand how the mind and body respond to stress, trauma, and life events. I also integrate elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) where helpful, supporting clients to identify patterns of thinking and behaviour that may no longer be serving them.
Creativity also plays an important role in my work. As a creative person myself, I recognise that words are not always enough. When appropriate, I may invite creative exercises, reflection, imagery, or expressive techniques to help explore thoughts and feelings in different ways. No artistic experience is ever needed—creativity is simply another tool for understanding ourselves.
I believe therapy should be a space where you don’t have to explain or justify who you are. A space where curiosity is welcomed, differences are respected, and healing can happen at your own pace.
Whatever brings you to counselling, I would be honoured to walk alongside you.
