Grace Buchanan BA (Hons) MBACP
Counsellor in surrey, England
A warm, down-to-earth space to explore what has been weighing on you
You may be feeling anxious, low, or emotionally overwhelmed, or perhaps you’re noticing patterns in your relationships or sense of self that you don’t fully understand. Whatever brings you to counselling, you don’t need to face it alone. I’m here to walk alongside you and help untangle and make sense of what’s been going on.
I’m an integrative, trauma-informed counsellor with a person-centred core, offering a supportive and non-judgemental space to explore what’s going on for you. I work online and in person from a confidential and private space in both Kingston-Upon-Thames (KT2 6LG) and Great Bookham (KT23 3HT).
How I Work
My style is collaborative and thoughtful. I aim to offer therapy that feels human and grounded, rather than clinical or overwhelming.
I integrate;
• Person-centred therapy as the foundation of my work
• Psychodynamic approaches to explore deeper patterns and early experiences
• TA, Parts work and inner child work to build self-understanding and self-compassion
• Trauma-informed practice, supported by additional training
Sessions with me will be at a pace that feels right for you, with care and curiosity rather than pressure.
What I can help with
• Anxiety and stress
• Low self-esteem and self-doubt
• Identity issues
• Emotional overwhelm
• Relationship difficulties
• Feeling stuck or disconnected
Why choose me?
It can be a difficult decision to choose a therapist with so many options available. You might feel comfortable working with me if you value a therapist who is;
• Warm, grounded, and easy to talk to
• Attentive to emotional safety and boundaries
• Interested in understanding you as a whole person
• Supportive, without judgment or agenda
Taking the first step
You don’t need a clear goal or a perfect explanation of what’s wrong before starting counselling. An initial session is simply a chance to see how it feels to talk together and whether I feel like the right fit for you.
I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy. Beginning with a commitment of around 6-12 sessions of therapy is often the most helpful, as it allows time to build a therapeutic relationship and start creating meaningful change. That said, counselling is not a fixed commitment, therapy can be ended at any point, and sessions can continue for as long as you find them helpful and meaningful in your life.
If you’re thinking about reaching out, you’re very welcome to get in touch. I’ll respond with care and without any pressure to book in.
