Chartered Psychologist | PsychD | MSc | BA (Hons) | HCPC Registered
I am Dr Denise Freeman, a Chartered Psychologist based in London, offering a warm, confidential and highly professional space for meaningful psychological change.
My work is centred on helping clients understand themselves more clearly, break unhelpful patterns, and move towards practical, lasting solutions. Whether you are facing anxiety, relationship difficulties, low mood, work-related stress, trauma, loss, identity questions or personal transition, therapy offers a space to pause, reflect and make sense of what is happening beneath the surface.
I work integratively and have developed Metagrative™ — an approach that brings together psychological insight, therapeutic skill and practical problem-solving to tailor therapy to each person. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all method, I work with your history, personality, current challenges and goals.
My aim is to understand your presenting difficulty in depth, identify patterns in your relationships, emotions and behaviour, and work collaboratively with you to create grounded, effective solutions.
At the heart of my practice is the belief that therapy is about breaking down barriers — the barriers created by fear, anxiety, trauma, self-doubt, old patterns, family dynamics, cultural expectations, relationship struggles or professional pressure. When these barriers are understood, they can begin to shift.
My interest in psychology began in 1991 through my early work in advertising, where I became fascinated by psychographics, motivation and the hidden drivers of behaviour. I later volunteered as a counsellor working with young people, completed an MSc in Psychology in 2009, and was awarded a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology in 2015.
I am a Chartered Psychologist and an HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist. Having worked across the UK, Finland, the Netherlands, the USA, Romania, Greece, Malaysia and Nepal, I bring a rich socio-cultural perspective to my work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Therapy is not just about talking through problems — it is about understanding why they exist, loosening the patterns that keep you stuck, and helping you move forward with clarity, strength and self-trust.

2 Reviews on “Dr Denise A. Freeman”
Working with Dr Freeman has been a genuine turning point. Her insights were invaluable, and by taking on the challenges she set, I saw results surprisingly quickly. She suggested concluding our sessions once I’d reached my targets, while making it clear she remains available for future support. This really highlights her professional integrity. She is insightful, direct, and warm—I cannot recommend her highly enough.
Amazing person!
