Counselling by Jane – Rewind Trauma Therapy & Animal Assisted Therapy Services
Counsellor in Scarborough, North Yorkshire
I offer a Counselling service with a difference!
I provide Counselling, or Counselling with a Therapy Pet (Animal Assisted Therapy), Rewind Trauma Therapy for children over 11, teens and adults.
When you ring or email me, I will send you my leaflet which explains the process. We can then make an appointment for you to come to chat and have an assessment. The initial assessment session takes between 1.5 and 2 hours. During this time will talk about reasons for accessing therapy and what you expect to gain from therapy.
After the assessment you can decide if you want to book sessions, then we complete the necessary paperwork etc. There is no obligation to book if you feel that way.
I am here to support you.
I am a very positive and empathic person and am very friendly, caring, approachable and easy to talk too. I am young at heart and can relate to a wide range of people from the very young to the elderly. I seem to get a lot of adolescents interested in my help with exam stress and anxiety. I also see people with depression, and work issues. I have a vast knowledge of Illness & disabilities, Nursing and in the Social Care Sector.
I have an extensive knowledge of life’s issues and problems like bereavement and loss of a pet, relationships and divorce, Pregnancy & loss, Mother support & childcare, young peoples issues like exam stress, bullying and peer issues, and low self -esteem. I also work with sleep issues, ptsd, OCD, victims of abuse and lots more.
I believe that everyone deserves the right to be heard. I will listen to you, without judgement. All will be in the strictest confidence, so give me a ring 07792847171
Counselling is available for Adults & Children, groups, young people, elderly, organisations, EAPs & employers.
Therapy can be with, or without a Therapy Pet cat or small dog. Pets can bring great health benefits to you such as lowering blood pressure, reducing stress, relaxation, help build low self esteem and help build relationships etc.
I offer Integrative counselling, with a person centred/Humanistic approach, integrating other tools as required.
I also run support groups like managing fibromyalgia and CFS. I also offer supervision to other therapists.
The Therapy is confidential, empathic, professional, and is especially friendly.
This therapy can benefit adults & children who are experiencing a range problems, and general debilitating problems, issues and anxieties which can affect every day living. I can help you work through these problems, help you manage them and improve your quality of life.
I am an Accredited member of the Bacp, and I am a Senior Accredited registrant of NCS.
I won Best Private Practice 2020 with CTUK.
I am based in a nice quiet area of the South side of Scarborough just past the University. This is on a bus route and I have off street parking available.
I offer a private quiet space in my therapy room allowing you to talk freely, and openly, at your own speed. This isn’t a clinical set up and it is a relaxing safe place.
The room is disabled friendly with a ramped access.

Counselling really helped
I was really dubious and going for counselling initially but Jane made me feel totally reassured. Jane is so easy to talk to and is a lovely friendly person. The therapy room was lovely and welcoming and what I would describe the art work as ‘a room with a view’.
Jane listened attentively to my story and worries. She used technique using shells to enable me to visualise support/friends around me, and to help me open up. During my therapy I had some time with the therapy animals, which helped me relax and this really cheered me up.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jane as a Counsellor.

Affordable and Relatable
Jane is a very down to earth woman that makes you feel welcome and comfortable the moment you step in the door.
I entered the therapy somewhat nervous and skeptical, soon finding my feet and feeling as though I can confess the world to her without judgement.
I can’t recommend Jane’s counselling enough, especially if you’re shy and not fond of having to speak first or pick topics yourself – you’ll very quickly find yourself blabbing away the hours before you even realize it.

Such a positive experience
Client – 10 sessions – anxiety
When everything else didn’t work at home, it was really positive to find a solution that did. Jane’s counselling was a step-by-step process that helped to overcome issues in an easy, positive and relaxed way. With lots of helpful handouts and videos available it was easy to understand where my thoughts were coming from and how they can be changed and handled. Jane talked to me in a very down to earth way that helped to reassure and comfort me throughout the whole counselling process. The animals, especially Neisha the cat, were very friendly and affectionate and helped to make me feel more at ease to open up. I would highly recommend Jane and her animal assisted therapy to anyone needing help.

Jane has been carrying out CBT for my 12 year old son, Charlie for the last 8 weeks. This therapy has really helped Charlie with his troubles, worries and anxiety. He is a lot less stress now than he was 8 weeks ago. Jane has listened to him, given him activities to carry out and coping strategies when having panic attacks. I would recommend Jane to others. She has been great with Charlie.
Molly and Neisha loving Charlie
Core evidence-based score at the start of therapy was 14 after 8 weeks the score dropped to 6, showing improvement by more than half in only 8 weeks!

Friendly and professional
I would highly recommend Jayne’s services to schools, families or individuals. Jayne is friendly, very easy to talk to and makes both adults and children feel at ease. My daughter enjoyed spending time with Jayne and her dogs. A fabulous service.
