Hello, my name is Vanessa, I am a qualified, integrative counsellor. Integrative counselling is a combined approach to psychotherapy that brings together different elements of specific therapies. I believe one approach is not suited to all clients as unique individuals we have different personalities, needs and experiences. Counselling techniques are tailored to your individual needs and personal circumstances to assist personal growth and change.
I am a registered, proficient, member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I am bound and adhere to it’s ethical framework for good practice to work safely and in the best interest of clients.
I can offer you a safe, confidential ,warm, genuine, respectful, and non- judgemental environment that values your feelings, views and difficulties. I will listen and use a range of approaches that are best suited to your needs and difficulties to assist you to explore your experiences, thoughts and feelings in a respectful, empathic, confidential space. I will support you to make sense of your experience and difficulties so you can find your own solutions to your concerns and issues. Making sense of your world can be difficult and I will provide you with a supportive relationship to work through your difficulties to improve your well-being.
I am passionate about supporting others, my own journey as been the driving force and motivation to assist individuals and clients to remove barriers and overcome their difficulties. I have overcome many adversities and barriers and would be privileged to share your journey. I have over ten years experience of supporting diverse young people and adults at all levels in education, effectively and successfully.
I am trained and qualified in providing additional learning support to learners with a wide range of disabilities and medical conditions. I am specifically trained in rape, sexual and domestic abuse, trained to National Survivors Trust Standards. I have worked with clients and service users pre and post trial providing therapeutic support and advocacy, pre – trial therapy trained. I am passionate about diversity to promote equality, awareness and lessen oppression.
My personal journey exploring my own mixed heritage, which at times was difficult as assisted positive identity development. I work with diverse clients to celebrate who they are. My training, knowledge and skills have developed throughout my counselling practice in a specialised sexual abuse counselling centre supporting survivors and a school wellbeing centre. Experienced and competent in providing therapeutic support to children, young people and adults. Working with clients from the age of 12 to 62.
Tuesday - 5 p.m. till 8 p.m.
Thursdays - 2 p.m. till 7 p.m.
Friday’s - 9 a.m. till 6 p.m.
Saturday - 9 a.m. till 12 p.m.
