Welcome and well done for making this first step. It can feel daunting starting counselling so i'd like to make that process as easy as possible for you. I work with both adults and young people and offer one-to-one support and a warm welcome from my practice in Leeds city centre (just near the train station). I am also trained and qualified to deliver sessions online (eg via video, phone, IM, e-mail). This can feel useful if physically accessing sessions is a challenge, or you simply prefer to access support from the convenience of home.
While I have particular expertise supporting in the areas of gender, sexualities, identity, young people and abuse- my breath of experience covers a wide range of issues.
You'll see from my website that I hold specialist qualifications including a Masters in Gender, Sexuality and Culture, a Postgraduate Diploma in Youth and Community Development work (JNC) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Alongside this, I have undergone extensive continued professional development over the last 20 years, and am fully committed to ongoing development in order to be the best counsellor I can be for my clients.
If you would like to book an initial appointment to discuss further then please do get in touch. The first session is free and lasts around 30 minutes. It is an opportunity for you to hear more about how I work, for us to discuss your needs further and see how it would feel to work together.
Following sessions (should we continue on to work together) are £40 and last 50 minutes.
I am a BACP accredited practitioner-this means I have been deemed as meeting a high standard in my work as an independent, ethical and competent therapist.
In addition, I am available as a (qualified) supervisor and for training and consultancy.
I look forward to hearing from you 🙂
