I'm trained to post-graduate diploma level as a counsellor and have completed advanced training in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy.
My educational background includes undergraduate degrees in Psychology, and Psychological and Social Interventions. I also have a Certificate in Couple Counselling and regularly attend conferences and workshops to support my ongoing professional development.
My counselling work
I work with individual and couples on either a short-term or long-term basis.
I often work with people who feel stuck, and uncertain about what to do next. They may have a sense that something isn't right for them and aren't sure what that is but who wish to explore their experience to find ways to live a more satisfying and fulfilling life. This can feel very distressing and disconcerting. I work with people to help them work out what is happening and why it may be happening, so that they can make sense of their experience and discover what will be helpful for them in moving forwards to new possibilities. This can be a difficult journey and I work with people at their own pace. For some this can be about significant changes in how they live their day-to-day lives and for others it can be more about changes to understanding and their experience of life.
I'm a member of the United Kingdom Association for Transactional Analysis and work in accordance with their code of ethics.
I work with a number of organisations, including Samaritans, Community Links, Papyrus, Saltaire Training Company and MindMatters, delivering a range of training courses. These include internationally recognised courses such as:
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
- Mental Health First Aid for Adults (MHFA)
- Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA)
I deliver these courses on a block-booking basis. Please contact me to find out more about the courses and fees.
