An experienced BACP Senior Accredited counsellor working from pleasant offices in the centre of Chichester. I work with clients either individuals or couples, who are having to deal with difficult personal issues in either their personal or professional life. My concern is to support each individual client by working in the way that best meets the needs of that individual. That can mean using different strategies from Psychodynamic counselling to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to Existential work. It is important to fit the strategies used in the counselling room with the specific requirements of each individual client.
Counselling sessions can be held over a short period of time particularly if there is a clear focus to the work. On other occasions where there are particularly complex or deeply rooted issues to be addressed the work may be more open ended.
I suggest meeting with clients for an initial informal discussion. That provides an opportunity to look at the issues which have brought the client into the room. It also provides an opportunity for the client to gain an initial view as to whether the way I work is likely to be helpful at this time. A fee is not charged for that first appointment. I am also happy to offer subsidised sessions to counsellors who are in training.
Private and confidential meetings are held in offices in the centre of Chichester close to car parking and public transport. The video shown below on this site relates to my previous office in Hampshire. My location may now have changed but the key messages set out in the video relating to my way of working with clients remains constant.
