About James Wright BACP Registered Counsellor, Bsc (Hons), FdSc, MBACP Burgess Hill & Brighton

I am a person-centred counsellor that can also work experientially. I work within Mid Sussex and Brighton/Hove. I will work with you on any issues you choose to explore. My aim is to create an environment where you can feel accepted, respected and safe to talk about whatever you want to, without feeling judged. I aim to understand you as if I am stepping into your shoes and seeing the world through your eyes.

I have experience and can work with you on a range of issues including: Anxiety, depression, trauma (including birth trauma), bereavement, loss, self-esteem, stress, addictions (including drug/alcohol), anger, family/relationship issues, gender/sexuality, self-harm and eating disorders. I can work with children and adults.

I am a registered member of the BACP and support my practice through regular supervision, training and development. My work is grounded in the BACP ethical framework, which contains the standards and principles for therapeutic practice.

I can offer creative and expressive ways of working, such as with art materials, stones, clay, symbolic objects, creative writing, story-telling, sand tray, imagery and visualisation, collage/scrapbooks, journals including art journals and play therapy. The decision whether to make us of any of these experiential and other integrative person-centred ways of working is always yours. At every stage of the process you will decide how far and where you want to go.

If you would like any more information, without obligation, please feel free to give me a call, or send an email and I will be happy to discuss this with you.
