I am Co-Director of Spring Psychotherapy and Counselling based in Birmingham. I have 8 years experience of working with vulnerable individuals from diverse backgrounds within the capacities of psychotherapy/counselling, mentoring and supportive roles. I am dedicated to offering professional therapeutic support to people from all walks of life, being culturally sensitive; valuing the spiritual, psychological, emotional and social aspects which shape your beliefs and behaviours.
I am an Integrative Psychotherapist this means I integrate methods and approaches to best suit your needs. I position myself within Humanistic and Existential approaches which indicates that I believe all people are capable of achieving their goals to the best of their ability. It also signifies the acceptance that all human beings suffer difficult times at some point in their lives, feelings of loss, hopelessness and lack of motivation.
I firmly believe in the power of the 'therapeutic relationship', which can arouse awareness, acceptance and change. I can support you with a broad range of issues, believing every client is different and therefore therapy reflects this difference. I work towards helping you to face your problems and support you to make positive choices and changes. I would describe myself as relational which emphasises on the relationship between myself and my client. I work in a caring, empathetic, non-judgemental way, encouraging shared dialogue and exploration whilst genuinely listening to my clients. If appropriate I may use creative mediums such as writing, painting and drawing to aid in my clients healing process.
