Camberley Therapy – Richard Stiles

I am an experienced counsellor working with adult individuals and couples. I offer both short-term and long-term therapy. We will discuss your specific needs together.

My approach stems from a belief that every human being is unique and views the world in an individual way. As such, much of the therapy is an exploration of what it is that makes you you. This may involve looking at your childhood, your values and your relationship patterns in a supportive and non-judgemental way. I believe in gently encouraging clients to reach their full potential.

I also use Mindfulness to help clients engage with their experience of being in the world. Mindfulness is paying attention on purpose to the present moment without judgement. The potential benefits of this are stress reduction; a calmer mind; increased concentration, to name just a few. I have been practising Mindfulness personally for over 20 years and can coach you in Mindfulness as a part of therapy if you wish.

Often people come to therapy because of a particular crisis or difficulty in their lives. Simply telling your story to a non-judgmental stranger can be enormously beneficial. However, you don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Some clients just want to explore their lives in a more philosophical way. I offer a safe space for that exploration.

My particular areas of interest are: Anxiety; Self-esteem issues; Confidence Building; Relationships; Bereavement; Stress Management; Anger issues; Obsessive tendencies.

I am a Registered member of the BACP and I practice in accordance with the BACP ethical guidelines for safe practice.

I practice from my private home within walking distance of Camberley town centre. The setting is quiet and tranquil, allowing us to work together with confidentiality and privacy. I also offer counselling and coaching sessions over Skype.
