I am a BACP qualified Children's and Young People's Counsellor based in Sheffield and the surrounding areas. I am also a qualified Youth Worker and so have a good understanding of what it is like to grow up in current times.
Coming along to counselling can be quite a big deal for anyone, including children and young people, so I aim to make everyone feel comfortable and start building a good therapeutic relationship as soon as possible.
I work creatively which means that, although counselling can involve sitting and talking, it can also include play and other creative activities. If you think this may be something that your child may benefit from then just get in touch. We will arrange an initial session and then you can decide whether this is something you would like to continue or not.
I have over 10 years experience of working with children and young people. I have worked as a School Counsellor in both Primary and Secondary Schools. I have worked on a short, medium and long term basis with children and young people and have run a number of therapeutic groups.
I work with a range of issues including bereavement, trauma, family seperation, disruptive behaviour, low self esteem and self harm. There is no problem to big or too small and if I feel I can't help you I will do my best to put you in touch with someone who can.
