Welcome to Change your Mind Counselling
If you’ve had enough of living with fear and self-doubt, you’ve come to the right place!
My name is Mark and I’m a qualified counsellor and here to help people beat anxiety, manage stress, and boost self-belief and self-confidence. I believe that with the right guidance, everyone can dismantle the inner beliefs and thinking patterns that undermine their peace of mind and hold them back in life. It’s so easy to keep struggling while hoping that somehow, things will get better. But why wait to start enjoying your life?
If you are ready to make change happen, I’m here to help.
What’s it for?
Counselling is good for anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, low self-confidence and relationship problems. It gives you the time and space to understand what is going on for you. Counselling can help you manage your emotions, and generally make life feel easier. It’s about getting to know how your mind works, and how to manage it for optimal mental wellbeing. It’s a safe space to say the unsayable. We are all different and I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. I tailor my approach according to every client’s needs, but we may explore how past events are influencing your current habits and relationships, and what outdated core beliefs are holding you back or keeping you stuck. I also use approaches from CBT and DBT to make change happen.
How do I work?
I work face-to-face from my office in Dinnington, by appointment only, I also work online and by telephone.
What can I help with?
The heart of all the work I do is changing the relationship you have with yourself by developing self-acceptance and self-compassion. I believe this is the foundation for overcoming anxiety and related issues such as low mood, mood swings, procrastination and lack of motivation, low confidence, stress, sleep problems, self-sabotage and destructive patterns of eating and drinking. I also use CBT and DBT -based approaches to shift unhelpful thinking patterns and use coaching to help you upgrade your lifestyle.
What training do I have?
My training and qualifications cover human relationships and development, the influence of lifestyle on mental health, and how our thinking habits and core beliefs influence our self-image and experience of life.
