My role as a counsellor is not to tell you what to do, to fix your problems for you, or to judge who you are. I provide a safe and supportive confidential setting in which you can learn what you need to, in order to resolve the difficulties you are facing.
I will offer guidance, help you consider different ways of viewing life and enable you to learn more about the choices and changes available to you.
I am fully qualified, and a Registered Member of the BACP, and I provide one to one counselling for adults, in comfortable, private therapy rooms in Cheddar.
I trained as an integrative counsellor, which means Ive studied several counselling theories and approaches and can draw on these to work in a way that suits you best, reflecting your own needs and preferences. Sessions usually involve talking through and learning about your thoughts and feelings, but when words aren\'t possible, or appropriate, other more creative approaches might be useful.
The relationship between client and counsellor is unique, and a fundamental part of the counselling process. It is essential that you trust and feel safe with your chosen counsellor. For that reason I offer a free, no obligation initial session, for you to decide if you would feel comfortable working with me and whether I am the right counsellor for you.
I fully understand that taking that step to come to counselling can be a difficult one and I hope this information helps you learn more about me, and what I offer.
