Deciding to embark on takes courage. I provide a warm, non-judgemental and safe space to explore issues that are troubling you. Talking to a person outside of your personal life can help you to understand yourself better and gain new perspectives. My professional background and training allows me to draw from many different therapeutic approaches to enhance our work together whilst always keeping in mind that a honest and trusting relationship between counsellor and client is what matters most. I offer both long and short term counselling.
Addtional to my counselling training I trained as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. CBT is based around the idea that our thoughts can influence how we feel and behave e.g. we interpret a situation in a negative way leading to us experieincing negative emotions and behaving in unhelpful ways. I can help you notice, challenge and change unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours.
