My name is Jane and I have a Foundation degree in integrative counselling.
I offer a service with a person centred core. I believe that you know yourself best but sometimes need a helping ear to work through issues, problems and worries without fear of judgement.
I have had experience of working with clients at the Macmillan Delamere Cancer Centre and both Cronton and Winstanley Colleges, counselling students between 16-19 yrs. I also have extensive knowledge of dealing with mental health issues, predominantly anxiety, panic and associated depression.
I have a special interest in mental health disorders having been through severe anxiety, chronic depression and panic triggered from traumatic life events. Living through these issues myself allows me the insight to begin to understand what you may be feeling.
I am currently expanding my private practice as a mobile counsellor.
If you have been considering counselling but feel nervous of that first session, then be safe in the knowledge that you are not alone, many people are apprehensive, wondering what counselling involves or wondering what to say but rest assured, that feeling is normal. To make that first appointment is one of the most courageous things you can do and can be the catalyst to the changes you may want to make.
All I ask is that your home will be free from distraction for the duration of the appointment. This may be a separate room in the house away from any family or friends, or preferable no family and friends in for the hour. No phone calls taken. Pets are okay as long as the don't disturb.
