About Support Counselling Service

There are many reasons why people come to Counselling. Whether you need help dealing with specific issues and concerns in your life, you are suffering after the loss of a loved one or you just need someone to talk to about your experiences. Whatever the reason, here at Support you can speak to a professional Counsellor in a comfortable environment.

Experiences and problems that we face can create feelings of unhappiness such as distress, low mood and a loss of control or direction in our lives. It can also be difficult to truly share our thoughts and feelings with our friends and family.

In Counselling sessions you will be free to talk openly to me without being judged. Discussing your feelings can help reduce distress and help you to feel more relaxed and able to think more clearly.

You are in control of your Counselling experience, choosing what you want to discuss and deciding what you want to achieve.

I will be there to listen to you and to try to understand things from your perspective. I will support you in finding solutions or finding a change in your life were required..

I will accept and respect you for who you are which will hopefully help you to feel more confident and improve your self worth.

As a qualified Psychotherapist, I am trained to use various Counselling techniques. I mainly use an approach called Person Centred Counselling, believing that you, the client have the ability to find solutions to your own problems, with a little support and guidance.
Were appropriate I may also introduce a Psycho dynamic approach which can involve discussing your past experiences and/or highlighting unconscious thoughts and behaviour.I may also discuss various Psychological theories with you if I feel that they will be of benefit to your Counselling experience.

I am accredited by The National Counselling Society and I abide by their code of ethics for Best Practise in Counselling and Psychotherapy. For more details please visit the National Counselling Society website www.nationalcounsellingsociety.org

I also hold full professional liability insurance.
