About Pauline Cruickshank MA, Reg MBACP, (BSCPC accredited)

Hello I\’m Pauline Cruickshank and I am a highly qualified Relate trained couples therapist and integrative counsellor with extensive experience of working in the field of relationship therapy and individual counselling.

My specialisms are in relationship difficulties (including psycho-sexual issues), depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement and loss, sexual abuse, pre-nuptial counselling, divorce and separation, low self-esteem, feelings of guilt and shame, and cross-cultural issues.

I have helped many individuals and couples who have struggled with issues that have seemed impossible to resolve. it can be difficult and embarrassing talking with family or friends about your problems, it may not feel comfortable or it does not help alleviate your concern. Talking to a trained professional can help you look at problems from a different, un-biased perspective.

My therapeutic commitment to you is to help you to develop a better understanding of yourself. I strive to encouraging a journey of discovery that will allow for new and alternatives approaches to develop so that issues that cause distress and preventing the enjoyment of life can be examined and dealt with in a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment. I will help you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours with a view to facilitating a change that will enable you to fulfil your potential and regain a sense of well-being. This in turn will strengthen your ability to cope with the challenges that life might bring.

In order to meet your therapeutic needs, I combine and tailor a number of different therapeutic approaches in an integrative manner. These include systemic and psychodynamic methods and CBT when requested. I am also trained in the creative arts and can use mediums such as paints, sand tray work and drawings to help you find a way of expressing yourself if talking becomes too difficult.

All of my work is supervised by an accredited supervisor who is a member of BACP and follows their code of ethics.
Please feel free to contact me on my confidential telephone number or email should you feel that my professional help can assist you with any issues you may be experiencing
