My name is Charlotte and I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and CPCAB Tutor. I have a lot of experience working with 12-18 year olds within a school setting. I have also worked with adults within the school; parents and members of staff. I run a small private practice in Stevenage Old Town. I am fully updated with Safeguarding training for both children and adults. I am a Registered Member of the BACP working towards my accreditation. I attend regular Supervision and CPD (Continual Professional Development) training.
I provide one-to-one talking therapy for a range of problems. I am predominantly Person-Centered however I am trained in Psychodynamic and Existential. I have some knowledge of CBT but I cannot work purely within this modality, I use CBT skills to assist a client if it is beneficial for them.
Person-Centered means that I will work at a clients pace and ensure we work with what the client wants to work on. This approach gives you the opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings and be empathically understood in a safe environment.
Psychodynamic means that we work with your past, look at your self-awareness and understanding of how past events influence present behaviours.
Counselling with me can be short-term or open ended.
We will meet for an initial assessment first where I can find out more about you and what you would like to achieve from Counselling and it gives you the opportunity to find out more about me and the counselling I provide. From here we can decide I am the right Counsellor for you and how best we can work together.
I do offer concessionary rates for students, apprentices, those on low income or in receipt of benefits/pension.
If this sounds like the type of talking therapy that you require please do not hesitate to contact me. I am happy to answer any questions that you may have.
