About New Frame Counselling and Psychotherapy

Do you struggle with feeling good enough? Do you always put other people’s need before your own? Do you find it difficult to say no? Are you feeling overwhelmed in your relationships?

I’m Lizandra Leigertwood and I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist. I specialise in all things to do with your relationships, whether that’s the relationship that you have with yourself, or the relationship that you have with others. I help both individuals and couples to find better ways of coping with inevitable life difficulties.

Life can be challenging and sometimes we need some extra support from a professional who can provide an outside perspective in a non-judgemental environment. Together, we can explore what it is that is causing your distress and find healthier, practical ways of coping with these difficulties. Therapy can help you to find your own voice, become empowered and to improve your relationships.

The counselling process allows you time and space to reflect and become self aware. In gaining self awareness you are able to make considered life choices and make the changes you want to make to live a happier and more fulfilling life.

As an integrative relational practitioner I am able to use a number of approaches based on your individual needs including using cognitive behavioural techniques where appropriate.

I am a fully registered member of the BACP and an accredited member of the NCS, which means I abide to a strict code of ethics and practice. I am trained to Masters’ level in integrative counselling and psychotherapy from the University of Roehampton. In addition to private practice, I have worked with a number of mental health organisations gaining experience in both short-term counselling and longer term psychotherapy.

I work with both individuals and couples from my therapy rooms in St Albans, Hertfordshire where I offer daytime and limited evening appointments.

I offer a free fifteen minute telephone consultation to find out more about your needs to see if we think we might be able to work together.

Please call or email to find out more, I usually respond to all enquiries within 24 hours. Alternatively, you can visit my website and Facebook page.
