About Caroline Bentley-Green Counselling & Psychotherapy

What can you expect from counselling?

Many aspects of our lives can cause difficulty or distress. Life events, traumatic experiences, illness, loss and bereavement can result in symptoms of anxiety, stress, depression, mood swings or create relationship difficulties. These can prevent you from living life to the full.
It may be you are experiencing dissatisfaction with life or have lost your sense of direction and purpose. This may be a recent event that has left you feeling overwhelmed or it may be that you have struggled with issues that began many years ago and you are now ready to talk about them.

Counselling & Psychotherapy can provide you with a safe, confidential space to take some time-out to explore your thoughts and feelings.
I can help you to explore your past, gain knowledge and understanding of the present and as a result, have more choice and control of your future. By making sense of difficult thoughts, feelings and behaviour you can make positive changes to resolve them. As you are reading this you have taken the first step towards bringing about positive change.

About Me

I am a qualified and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy with experience in multiple areas of the counselling and psychotherapy field.

I have a private practice in Basingstoke and have experience of most issues that you may see your GP for. A non-exhaustive list includes: Anxiety, Depression, Relationship Difficulties, Living with Chronic Illness, Divorce and Work Related Stress. Please see my website for more information on this.

I  have provided counselling and addiction therapy at a Basingstoke agency and bereavement counselling at St Michael’s Hospice.

Other experience includes working with survivors of rape and sexual abuse and with young adults facing emotional difficulties.

I am committed to providing a safe, confidential and non judgemental environment working in accordance with the BACP’s Ethical Framework for Good Practice for Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.

When & Where can you see Me?

I offer appointments Tuesday through to Saturday in Basingstoke Town Centre.

What to expect in your first session

Firstly, a warm welcome. Together, we will look at your requirements and discuss the most beneficial way forward, that feels right for you. It is also the opportunity to see how we could work together. It is really important that you feel comfortable working with me and if you feel we don’t click then I will be happy to provide you with referrals to other therapists. I will do the same if I feel your needs are outside of my area of specialism.

Qualifications:

Each provides its own valuable perspective and is enhanced when carefully integrated with another. This includes Psychodynamic work (Psychotherapy), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person Centred Therapy, Mindfulness and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. The approach I take will be what is appropriate for you and only with your full consent.
