About KN Psychotherapy and Wellbeing

Karen Nolan
Transactional Analysis Psychotherapist. BACP Registered. Offers individual and group psychotherapy.
Based in Wigan and working online and by phone.

If you’re at a crossroads in your career or relationship; if you feel stressed, bullied or undervalued; if you’re disillusioned, anxious or depressed; if you’re troubled by the past and uncertain about the future talking to a psychotherapist can help.

I offer a safe, welcoming and confidential space where you will be heard, accepted and understood. I specialise in working with professionals and creatives with a focus on supporting personal growth, self-confidence and change.

Together we can explore your experiences and identify ways in which difficulties from your past may be preventing you from achieving what you want in the present. We will work together to find a way for you to move forward.

My aim is for you to end therapy feeling more confident and resourceful.

About Me

I am an experienced psychotherapist with an established and popular private practice. I trained at Manchester Institute and graduated with a Level 7 Diploma in Advanced Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy.

I worked in Human Resources for over 20 years and managed corporate services for a large, respected housing organisation in South Yorkshire. I have significant experience of workplace wellbeing and successfully supporting people to return to work.

As a psychotherapist my special interests include anxiety, childhood trauma and ADHD.

I founded my private therapy practice in Chorlton in 2016 and moved to online working in response to the pandemic.

Focus

Clients I work with are generally successful professionals, creatives, students and academics, who have hit a setback in the work or personal life.

Sometimes they have been impacted by an incident at work, illness, job loss, bereavement or relationship difficulties. They may be feeling burned out by work, depressed and struggling to get back on track.

Sometimes recent incidents have caused memories of past traumas to resurface. This may be experienced as anxiety, panic attacks, difficulty sleeping and loss of motivation and focus.

Many of the people I work with are perfectionists. They have a desire to get things right. Often they’re great problem solvers. They’re the friend or family member others turn to in a crisis. They’re used to being strong for everyone else and feel reluctant to ask for help for themselves.

They may even be angry with themselves for needing help. Instead they get on with things, burying their own feelings and ignoring their own wants and needs. They may feel alone, overwhelmed, and unappreciated.

If any of this sounds familiar and you would like to find out how therapy with might help, please contact me to arrange a free consultation.

Approach

I offer a free initial consultation by telephone or by Zoom. This lasts about 40 minutes and is an opportunity for us to talk about your current situation, background and reasons for starting therapy. We can think about how we might work together and I can answer any questions you have about my approach.

If you decide to begin therapy, sessions are usually once a week for 50 minutes.

Fees

Individual Therapy: from £50 per 50 minute session.

Group Therapy: from £30 per 90 minute session.
