Qualified BACP registered practitioner specialising in working with anxiety disorders, depression, eating disorders, PTSD and childhood trauma. I work to help you understand your unhelpful patterns and the anxiety and depression which results from difficult life events or past experiences. I use an integrative approach to therapy including Transactional Analysis, body centred Psychotherapy and counselling approaches.
How I work
I work on a medium to long tem basis to help you make long lasting positive changes to your life. If you have been experiencing anxiety or depression for a long time, it can take time to work through the patterns of negative thoughts, feelings and behaviours which are maintaining your anxious or depressed feelings. The process therefore requires focus and a commitment to getting better.
I use an integrated style incorporating Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, Counselling approaches and body-centred Psychotherapy. This is because everyone is unique and different types of therapy work for different people, I therefore tailor the style used to suit you and the therapeutic relationship forms the foundation of the work. I also use mindfulness techniques to enhance your self awareness and help you make positive changes.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity meet and talk through the difficulties you are currently experiencing. I will ask you some questions to get an idea of the issues and explain how I work. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask me any questions. We then decide whether we can work together..
Where I work
I work as in private practice in my room in Fallowfield, Manchester. The office is situated in a therapy centre on a quiet street where there is plenty of parking available. The centre is conveniently located and accessible and the environment is comfortable and welcoming.

I believe in the power of talking as a way of understanding ourselves and making sense of our lives. Through the process of sharing our experiences we can begin to work out what we want out of life and can shape our future to look how we desire rather than staying in the same old stuck patterns. I work at depth to explore the underlying reasons for unhappiness and therefore the therapy generally takes place on a medium to long term basis.
