About Emily Collins Counselling

It can be so difficult to reach out for help when life is challenging. Often making that step and contacting a counsellor can be nerve wracking and daunting and maybe filled with questions such as ‘What will they think of me?’ ‘What if they think i’m crazy?’ or ‘What if they don’t even respond?’ Sometimes, taking yourself beyond your comfort zone and seeking help can be an important part of the process of making changes and personal growth.

For me the most fundamental and important ingredient of effective therapy, is the relationship between you and your counsellor. For you to feel accepted and respected in a safe and empathic environment is key, which is why deciding on the right therapist for you is essential.

Looking at counsellors profiles on sites like this can be a little confusing, there are so many different therapists working in various ways, that choosing the right one is perhaps a challenge. For this reason, I like to offer an initial no obligation free of charge appointment. This 30 minute appointment allows for us to meet, for me to find out a bit more about what has brought you to counselling. I will also explain about the style of counselling I use, to see how that fits with your expectations and needs. From this meeting we can both decide if we can work together, if counselling feels like the right option for you and you feel comfortable with me as your counsellor.

Clients have described their experience of counselling with me as a place where they are free to be themselves. The acceptance and unconditional positive regard offered has allowed people to make positive changes in their lives.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Please feel free to contact me, regardless, I wish you health and happiness on whatever path your journey takes you on.
