I provide psychotherapy and counselling to individuals and couples. I also provide online therapy.
The main models of therapy underpinning my work are Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and Relational Psychotherapy. Transactional analysis psychotherapy looks at how we become who we are, and how we grow and change during the course of life. Relational Psychotherapy is an approach which believes in the centrality of the therapeutic relationship as the significant agent for change and successful therapy.
In my role as a psychotherapist and counsellor I have helped people for a number of years with a variety of emotional, social or mental health issues. Some people come to therapy because they are struggling and feel held back by past issues and others want to focus on present-centred issues and circumstances. All of these can be worked through in therapy. Some of the issues I have worked with include anxiety, bereavement and loss, depression, dissatisfaction and disappointment, relationship difficulties, sexuality and identity issues, self-confidence and self-esteem difficulties, and stress.
As a psychotherapist I adhere to the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy Code of Ethics and receive regular supervision according to UKCP guidelines. I am currently completing Advanced Clinical Training in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, as part of working towards accreditation as a Certified Transactional Analyst.
As an online therapist I am registered with the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online
