I provide a calm and welcoming space away from the pressures of your everyday life. Giving you the opportunity to explore, come to terms with, and move on from previous experiences, and ways of being, and look towards a brighter and happier future.
Helping you make positive life changes...
People enter therapy because they want to experience change. In my role as your therapist, I will support you to move beyond your current difficulties, uncover what is meaningful to you, identify and strengthen your inner resources, and help you decide upon the positive change that you want in your life. I will support you to move towards what you want more of. I do not have imposed solutions to your problems but I will work with you to help you reach the place that you want to reach. Life can be better than it is now. Change is possible!
Working with me, what you can expect...
Through the process of compassionate and in-depth dialogue, I will support you to explore your experience, wonder about the intentions or motivations behind your behaviours, thoughts and actions, notice emotional patterns or themes and see the bigger picture. Talk therapy will offer the opportunity for new insight, new layers of meaning, and open pathways for your experience, thoughts and feelings to change for the better.
Somatic and Creative Approaches:
There are a number of illuminating and exploratory 'other than words' approaches that I can offer, helping you move beyond the logical and linear way of approaching, processing and talking about your problem. This way of working is especially helpful if you feel 'stuck' or if you are very skilled, as many are, at using words to mask, hide or minimise the problem. This dynamic and adaptable approach will help you experience and process things through a new lens and will open the possibility for deep insight and new perspectives.
Many of my clients report experiencing great benefit from engaging in therapeutic tasks both in our therapy sessions and between sessions. Amongst other things, I may invite you to create a life map, jot down thought maps, read self-help passages, journal, draw or doodle, experiment with symbolic 'play', write a letter/s, practise mindfulness or meditation or take a walk...to mention some.
After working together for some time, when we have got a lot of what was 'in the way' of your moving forward 'out of the way', I can support you in a solution focused and coaching capacity to help you set goals, plan and move forward towards the life you want for yourself.

The initial consultation provides an opportunity to meet with me, ask any questions you may have and share your reasons and hopes for seeking therapeutic support. In turn, I will explain a little more about the service I can offer and more specifically, how I might be able to help you.
The initial consultation is a 30-minute meeting which is charged at £20 only.
