Life can be a struggle sometimes or it may have always been this way for you. You may feel that you live life just going through the motions, but inside you’re screaming. Maybe you feel empty or constantly angry. Perhaps you’ve lost yourself and don’t know how to find ‘you’ again. It could be that everything is an effort and you lack motivation, or you’ve lost your purpose in life. You may be stuck with negative thoughts about yourself or others; feeling lonely, angry, shame, guilty, grief, anxiety or sadness.
My name is Karen, I am a person-centred, qualified counsellor, and what I can offer you is an opportunity to speak freely about whatever is currently important in your life. This may be something from the past, a current experience or something you are finding hard to overcome. Whatever you choose to speak about remains confidential (there are exceptions to this which are discussed in the initial meeting), and without any judgement.
Please note that I have a current enhanced DBS check, and have undergone extensive Safeguarding training, for both children and adults.
I’m available to see young people aged 16 and above, adults, and couples. I offer support for all issues, such as; anxiety, depression, low mood, anger, bereavement, self-harm and abuse, amongst many others. I also offer couples counselling for when couples are experiencing difficulties in their relationship. Daytime and evening sessions are available, and I also do home visits, as well as seeing clients at my Atherton base.
For all counselling, the initial assessment lasts half an hour and is free of charge.
Further sessions last 50 minutes, please see below for prices.
