About Re-Emerge Counselling in Motspur Park (KT3)

ABOUT ME
My name is Andrea Burianova (BSc Hons Psych, MA, MBACP Reg) and I am a qualified, registered and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, offering weekly one-to-one sessions to adults (18+) on a short-term and open-ended basis. My practice is located in Motspur Park (KT3), within an easy reach from West Barnes, New Malden, Worcester Park and Raynes Park. The location is easily accessible by public transport and street parking.

You might be looking for a counsellor or psychotherapist because of a specific issue or a general sense of ‘things not being quite right’. My main focus is on building a warm, supportive and safe place where you can be fully yourself and talk freely about your concerns without fear of being judged. Whatever you bring to therapy I will treat your experience with respect and as unique and subjective to your own personal circumstances.

Working through your worries and identifying challenging thoughts, emotions and behaviours will help you to make a better sense of your current but also past difficulties and how those are often related. With the help of empathic exploration, gentle probing and intuitive insight my main aim is to help you to get in touch with your own inner resources, achieve a deeper understanding of yourself and explore new ways of being and relating to others.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
My qualifications include a BACP accredited Master’s degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and a BSc (Honours) degree in Psychology with Counselling Skills. I am a registered BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) member – currently working towards professional accreditation.

As an integrative psychotherapist, I have been influenced by various therapeutic modalities that I use depending on client’s needs and preferences, including Psychodynamic and Attachment Theories, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Humanistic approaches. However, I believe that the most significant factor facilitating client’s change and growth is the trust within the client-therapist relationship.

I have gained an extensive experience of working across a range of mental health services including Samaritans, Bereavement services and NHS. My gentle and compassionate approach has been particularly benefiting clients struggling with issues around low self-esteem, self-blame and internalised critical messages, which often lead to anxiety, depression and loneliness.

Having previously lived and worked in various places including Europe, America and the Middle East, I also have a good understanding of the challenges that expatriates and cultural minorities face within multicultural environments. Additionally, being a mum of a young child myself I do recognise the obstacles that new mothers have to deal with and the impact of external as well as internal pressures on them.

FEES

I understand that making the first step is often the hardest for many people. Therefore, if you would like to have a short chat and get more information, please feel free to contact me by phone or an email. We can then arrange an initial session to get to know each other and see if I could be of any help to you. If we decide to work together I usually recommend meeting initially for up to 6 sessions and review how things are going in regard to your expectations from therapy.

I offer a free 15 minutes’ phone consultation and the fee afterwards is £55 per session.

Sessions are weekly and last 50 minutes.

PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO COVID-19 OUTBREAK ALL MY SESSIONS HAVE BEEN MOVED ONLINE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
