Clinical Neuropsychology Clinic: Dr Mawbey is an expert in the field of Clinical Neuropsychology and has held coveted posts as a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist, leading other Neuropsychologists and therapists in providing holistic neurorehabilitation to clients with neurological and neurogenerative conditions and acquired traumatic brain injuries. She regularly works with clients to apply tailored psychological therapies, including CBT to treat difficulties including depression, social anxiety, generalised anxiety, phobias, OCD and panic disorders. Sports Neuropsychology: Dr Mawbey is the founder of the Sports Neuropsychology Clinic, driven by a passion to provide accessible, impartial, non-judgemental specialist psychoeducation, consultation and information regarding assessment, neurorehabilitation and psychological intervention to athletes who are at risk of head injury and changes in the brain.

General Clinical Psychology/Mental Health Clinic: In addition to her work within Clinical Neuropsychology, Dr Mawbey holds clinics to treat clients without neurological and health conditions, delivering specialist CBT, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy for a range of mental health difficulties.

Clinical Practice: I offer a relaxed, compassionate, non-judgemental space for clients to work through their difficulties. Sometimes, people don’t fall into a particular category of “depressed” or “anxious”, and these labels are not helpful. A person may have a general sense of being unsettled, need help finding a direction, generally feel rubbish about themselves, or be experiencing a mixture of difficulties. Psychological support can give individuals a place to reflect on these issues.

I believe that the person is the expert on themselves and that the Psychologist is the expert in Psychology, and that in working together, these two experts make for a successful therapeutic relationship. I aim to tailor therapy to the individual so that they can get the most out of their sessions and very much believe that one model does not always fit all. I do this whilst maintaining integrity in the therapy that I deliver, by following evidence-based best practice guidelines set forth by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE).
