Coming to counselling can sometimes be a daunting experience.
Yet for many that do, they find that the time, effort and expense can produce long term change to their behaviours, moods, beliefs, relationships and thought patterns.
As a result this can lead those clients to a more authentic and fulfilling life.
One of the most important healing aspects of counselling is that it provides the client with a space for them to be truly listened to. For some this may be the first time they have ever really felt listened to.
Counselling provides a judgement-free space to be able to explore your deepest feelings, thoughts, fantasies, hopes and fears and to find the courage to change the areas of your life that make you unhappy.
There are times when couples seek help in their relationship, this does not necessarily mean the relationship is failing, but could be an indication of the importance of that relationship and the desire to find new ways of relating and communicating with each other.
Couples Counselling involves both partners attending the sessions together, however individual sessions may also be arranged so long as both partners are in agreement to this.
