hi thankyou for taking the time to read my profile, my name Maria Rogers and i am a counsellor based in Brentwood and Hornchurch the counselling services I have established is called, "A Ray of Hope", I offer clients therapy, using a humanistic approach. I bring a great deal of experience both personally and professionally to my work. I have worked for and currently work within various professional organisations, including: The Priory hospital and the Nhs as well as overseas in Thailand Hope rehabilitation centre.
I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment offering my clients unconditional, positive regard and empathy as they grow and develop. This can lead to greater insight, healing and self-confidence.
Our early experiences, both negative and positive, impact on our present way of thinking, behaving and relating to others. Therefore, it is important to help the client to make those links between past and present behaviour, to increase their self-awareness to bring about change.
I run therapy groups combined with meditation on a Sunday where Clients also have the option to receive auricular acupuncture this is optional it is a very good holistic remedy for relieving stress; anxiety; fatigue; pain and for detoxing. Auricular acupuncture is a form of Chinese Medicine which uses small needles inserted into various parts of the ear to treat a variety of conditions. I practice a NADA five-point Protocol for Substance Misuse and Stress Management and weight loss. Indeed, some clients who are withdrawing from alcohol and drugs/nicotine and sugar find this particularly beneficial. My therapy group sessions consist of exploring your inner world we do vision boards, inner child work or a simple feelings group, this has been very successful for anyone wanting to work on themselves in a safe therapeutic way, no matter what they are going through even if its just to relax and ease some stress.
The benefits of meditation / meditation and therapy are diverse. Meditation is a spiritual exercise, in which one focuses on breath or object or sound, in order to increase awareness of the present, to enhance one’s personality and bring about spiritual growth. “Metta Bhavana” means “developing loving kindness”.
“Love” and “Kindness” are the same in the Buddhist tradition as they are to you and I. They are about loving people, loving animals, and loving the world. They’re about doing good, meaning well, and living from a place of kindness and compassion. I’m sure you’ll agree with me that these are some of the most important and best qualities a person can own.
I also work from Brentwood Essex next to mainline station please ask for more details.
