Relational psychotherapy can help us to explore our various difficulties in living in more depth. By linking problems in the present to memories and experiences from the past we engage in a collaborative co-construction of our subjective experience, providing it with coherent meaning. The therapeutic relationship helps us to develop new ways of experiencing ourselves and intimate others, and thus to deal with interpersonal difficulties in more reflective, less traumatic ways.
