About Richmond Counselling

I am a professionally qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor with nine years of experience within the NHS and voluntary sector. I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment in which your thoughts and problems can be worked through together.

I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.

Through the therapeutic relationship, aspects of current and past events in your life can be linked and understood. This can lead to a better understanding of how you relate and respond to people and situations. This new found awareness can enable you to make meaningful changes going forward.

Sessions take place once a week and last for 50 minutes. I provide both open ended and time limited therapy. Time limited therapy of 12 sessions or less may be appropriate where there is an immediate crisis or clearly defined problem. I use CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) skills where appropriate. Contact me via email on maryobyrnes@gmail.com or telephone on 07977405544 for an initial consultation to discuss your individual needs.

I hold the WPF Therapy Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy accredited by the University of Roehampton. I also have a Post qualification Certificate in CBT.
