About Southwind Therapies

I am a qualified Psychotherapist, Psychologist and Art Therapist, drawing from psychoanalytic psychodynamic approach. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), am a Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). I have worked with a number of organisations including fostering and adoption services, women’s organisations, diet clinics, children’s hospices and adult psychiatric hospital, both NHS and private. I have over twelve years of experience in mental health practice and wellbeing. I am Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked and to date, fully insured and abide by several Codes of Ethics and attend regular supervision. I frequently attend medical conferences and congresses, both in the UK and abroad, to keep up-to-date with the latest research and developments in mental health, along with new discoveries that can aid the process of recovery.

I am passionate about supporting people during difficult times. My areas of specialty include adults, children and adolescents that have been affected by various mental disturbances and disorders such as anxiety and worries; depression; bipolar; low self-esteem; stress management; eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia and obesity); self-harm; post-traumatic stress (PTSD); relationship issues; as well as terminal illnesses, grief and loss (bereavement). I also work individually with adopted parents and their new child(ren). I provide a safe and confidential space for clients to explore aspects of your life that they may be struggling with. I am empathetic and non-judgemental.

Therapy provides a safe, confidential space to explore and to better understand personal pain, distress and suffering. People come to therapy for various reasons. Usually, it is to receive support with difficult feelings and emotions. Some people carry emotional wounds from recent or early life traumatic experiences related to their health or lives of loved ones, while others might feel just a deep sense of sadness or stuck in their current lifestyles, work and career. Individuals or couples may be experiencing difficulties in their relationships. And others may feel a sense of dissatisfaction with life, yet not entirely sure what is wrong with them. Therapy is helpful for any of these reasons.

My consulting room is located in Bromley, at the Centre for Counselling Bromley, which is nearby the Glades Shopping Centre. I am available during flexible hours on the weekdays, evenings and weekends.
